Sparks from
HaGaon Rav Moshe Shapiro zt"l
A Few Words of Introduction
I am both very excited to open up this new page, and also filled with trepidation. The trepidation comes from the knowledge that not only do I have access to only a tiny fraction of Rav Shapiro’s Torah, I also only understand a tiny fraction of what I read. Rav Shapiro possessed encyclopedic knowledge along with piercing depth of thought. In his shiurim he clearly gave over his ideas in layers, beginning with an idea, and then adding nuance and depth each time he returned to it. I am certain that what I understand only scratches the surface. For that reason, I hesitate to write.
On the other hand, there is the excitement. I may only be able to gain a few sparks from Rav Shapiro’s brilliance, but they have brought me so much joy. I believe there is value in sharing that. It is from that place that I am writing to you, with humility and love. I hope you gain from these thoughts. I would be delighted to hear any insights, comments or corrections you may have.
I plan to add some biographical information and other resources to this page soon, but for now click below to see the latest posts.
